This one hurts a bit. For who among us likes to pay taxes... and which of us church goers doesn't think we could spend the churches money better?
But in Luke 20.20 the religious leaders sent spies pretending to be honest men trying to trick Jesus again. They asked him if they should pay taxes to Ceaser, because I am guessing Ceaser didn't spend all the money on holy things.
And Jesus gives this fabulous, to the truth core answer:
Jesus: Show me a coin. Who's picture is on it?
Spies pretending to be honest men: Ceaser's picture is on it.
Jesus: Well then, give to Ceaser what is Ceaser's, and to God what is Gods.
So - don't worry about the things that are out of your control.
Things Jesus DIDN'T say - said in order to over emphasize the things he DID say.
