Those who get pretty close to me know I love the Heritage Singers. One of the reasons for this is Duane Hamilton. He is an awesome bass singer.
I always wanted that low bass ever since I heard him as a 19 year old in London. I wanted to add those low notes, surprise the listener, fill out the vocals.
Now I'm no tenor, but my voice never even gets close. Perhaps that is one of the reasons I took up the bass guitar. I really do love those low notes.
Imagine my joy then, when a modern singer song writer seemed to get my love of "That Bass". It IS all about That Bass. How cool is this!
And Meghan Trainor is so right, the boys, me included, do love that boom boom. Because I am all about that bass, not that I hate the treble, I just love the bass... oh I get it now! This is why music is so popular - it says what the human heart longs to share, but doesn't always know how.
I had a new favorite song. Singing the chorus all around the house... "all about that Bass..." who knows... maybe even humming it to myself at church.
I decided I wanted to know all the lyrics... you know, so that I could do more than hum.
.... did I get that wrong!!
