Peter... The oldest disciple, and the one Jesus called to "Feed His Lambs".
Paul... Author of a great deal of the New Testament, and the most extraordinary missionary and church planter.
James... Heading up the church (followers of The Way) in Jerusalem.
These guys were not liberal. They were not conservative. They were radical.
Sure, there were times when the "circumcision party" had to be put in their place. The people who gave up all they had to follow Jesus needed to be reminded from time to time what the central theme of this Great Commission was. But they followed. They did not bring the former life, conservative or liberal, to bear on their new life. They turned from the way they were going, and followed the One who saved... by giving His all.
Let's never... ever... confuse our ideas, our doctrine, our stands on certain issues - let's never confuse these things with the Gospel. The Good News.
This post shouldn't be news.
