I've just come back from Europe where I indulged in a great deal of chocolate - actually the indulgence is continuing.
But another thing I really enjoy about Europe is the way you can enjoy art and architecture over its transformation through the centuries. You see, I love walking around these magnificent cathedrals. But enjoying that does not stop me from marveling, and liking the more modern structures like the opera house in Oslo.
I can do this with hymns and praise songs too.
Older Bible translations, and the newer ones.
Though, I have seen some pretty dreadful ancient buildings that are nothing more than functional old structures that would not be missed if pulled down. And just because something is modern does in no way automatically mean it is good. So to simply base your opinion on age might mean you miss out on some very special things.
