Last night, my human took me for a walk. We went around the block. It's the first time we've been this way, and there were just so many things to smell. Many of the gardens obviously had dogs - but maybe their humans were taking them for walks at that time too.
Sometimes the smells were just irresistible! I could have stayed there for minutes and minutes. But my human is more of a seconds and seconds kind of guy. :-p
Sometimes he'd let me stay a little longer, but that inevitable tug on the collar came and it was time to move on. Oh I wanted to stay longer... but I didn't moan. I didn't spend the rest of the walk wishing I'd had longer at that particular spot. Instead I just kept smelling, and before long there was some other fascinating community event to catch up on! I never had to wait long.
My human says that people spend too long wishing for things that aren't there any more, instead of being open to something wonderful down the road.
