Is one of your resolutions for the New Year to save more money? Here is a grrrreat way to do it! And it's kind of fun too.
Step 1. - Find a piggy bank or something cool to keep your money in (hint: Don't spend a lot of money on this!)
Step 2. - On day 1, find 15cents. Put it in the piggy bank or cool thing to keep your money in.
Step 3. - On day 2, find a total of 30cents to put into this new savings thing you got going on.
Step 4. - On day 3, add 15cents again... this time putting 45cents into the piggy bank. You now have a total of 75cents. Tomorrow you'll pass the $1 mark. Because yes that's right - every day you add 15cents... and if you keep doing this for 10 years - adding 15cents a day to your total put into your savings - you'll have a cool $1,000,000. Admittedly, you'll be putting aside $500 a day by then!
Step 5. - There will come the day when you won't have the cash to put into the scheduled amount into the savings. What then? This is where the plan gets truly brilliant. Go back to the very beginning, find a new piggy bank or fun object in which to store your new fortune (hint: Don't spend a lot of money on this) and start again. Your first goal here now is to top the total you still have stashed away from your attempt last time.
Step 6. - Keep doing this for 10 years, and you might not get the $1,000,000 but you will likely have enough to pay for that new car with cash.
Here's to a a fabulous new you in 2015.
