The fact that more people live in cities than other dwelling areas is a new phenomenon. Today, 54 per cent of the world’s population lives in urban areas, a proportion that is expected to increase to 66 per cent by 2050. (over 6 billion by 2045, according to the united nations).
Christians tend to stay away from cities. These are the centers of finance, entertainment, and often have a great deal of what we might call blatant sin.
If Jesus came for the sick (they need a doctor more than the healthy do), then why are we as His followers so hesitant to make our homes and centers of ministries in the cities?
We should expand into these densely populated areas, because people matter, and most of the people live in cities.
