It's 4 am - and I'm "suffering" from Jet lag. I've just had an incredible two weeks traveling England Scotland and Wales with my daughter - seeing the sites, and catching up with family.
And now I return... and judging by texts, voicemails, e-mails etc, I've plenty to return to. So much, that it is tempting to think it would have been easier if I never had went away. But that would be foolish. Because the routine, the drumness, the constant to do list (everyone's) will get to you, so much so that as a pastor, it is easy to forget what it is we are truly called to do.
But I've been away. I've imagined new things, thought new thoughts, read for fun, and though tired - it is totally the good kind. And I'm ready to pastor. :-)
