ok, I'm not going to argue with the FAA, or any other organization that has every flight I go on tell me that in an emergency I must take care of myself first... before helping others. But this is often used as an example of how would should 'do life'. If your going to truly help others, then you sure better make sure you are in good shape first.
But Jesus Didn't say that.
In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of a shepherd who leaves behind 99 sheep, to go look for the one. Jesus doesn't play the odds game. He does not look at the collected data to make the most profitable decision. In fact... he came to die so that we would have life.
