Churches would often like you to believe this - as long as you give them 10%. But for your own sake, Jesus is very interested how you deal with, share and use your time, money relationships and resources.

Prophecy

The side affect of studying prophecy, is that once we've "figured" it out, we can too easily think we have access to valuable information that will save us. Information is great, but the Prophet Daniel himself warns us that and information age would come. Daniel actually demonstrates the right response to prophesy... (Read the beginning of Daniel 9), so if you are into this, then I'm popping on your screen today to encourage you to trust and serve this God who's in control. May His ways be your ways today.

Do you have enough faith to survive church?

I've got two kids. Sometimes they don't get along, and occasionally they say something mean to the other. When that happens, the hurt child does not move out.

I'm not trying to be insensitive here. I have seen the pain caused in churches when people hurt other people. And it happens too often. We lose trust in one another, and we decide someone is not acting Christlike and so we are tempted to move on, and either hang out alone, or find the nice people.

Consider this story from Matthew (15.21-28), where the gentile woman asks Jesus to heal her daughter. At this point Jesus calls her a dog. Probably in many churches a good enough reason to leave I'm guessing.

But the woman does not go, instead she plays along, and says even the dogs get scraps from the table. Jesus then says her faith is great, and heals her daughter.

Some of us need greater faith to survive church. May yours be sufficient. Because it turns out, God needs you.

Save Someone For Me

It's too easy sometimes to imagine ourselves as the Savior when we start trying to convert someone. But Jesus does not need you to save someone... just to introduce them to him.
